Why Steam pedicures?

CONFETTI CROWN.ROSEMARY BISHOP.WE DO STEAM PEDICURES….BUT WHY?

written by Rosemary Bishop

At CONFETTI we pride ourselves on always staying on top of all the latest fashion, trends, and services.  That’s why we travelled all the way to Salt Lake City, Utah, to experience this new craze we heard about: Steam Pedicures.  And, let us tell you, that trip was well worth it!

While we still use customary comfortable seating as opposed to the gravity chairs some spas have opted for, we also offer a lying down version of this service that will leave your feet + your head feeling brand new.

Here is our list of PRO Steam Pedis and CON Soak Pedis to better illustrate why we made the change to this new service. Written by our very own nail guru, Rosemary Bishop.

*Steam Pedis are eco-friendly + use only 1-gallon of water per every 4 services, vs traditional Pedis that use roughly 25 gallons for each + every service.

*The heat + steam from the pedicure will increase the blood circulation in your feet.  Ultimately this helps your nails grow stronger + healthier.

*Steam, by nature, kills up to 99% of the bacteria, thus creating a more clean + sanitary pedicure.

*Steam Pedis will remove dead skin cells from your feet + nails, leaving them softer + extremely smooth.

*The warm steam will soften your cuticles.  This makes them easier to push back, polish, + keep looking clean.

*Steam Pedis will mobilize lymphatic circulation.

*The steam will hydrate the skin for a more hygienic approach, by opening up the pores allowing them to absorb more moisture + product.

*The steam will reduce tension + muscle aches.

*Steam Pedis can actually help with headaches + other pain.

*Because of the water used has to travel through pipes in a traditional Soak Pedi, it’s not sterile. This can cause more bacteria + infection for clients. With Steam Pedis you don’t have to worry since it’s completely sterile.

*Soaking bowls need to be deep cleaned in between clients.  This not only requires the use of more chemicals that ultimately end up in our waterways, but it also takes extra time. Many spas will opt to use liners instead. This option is extremely wasteful and adds waste to an already waste-heavy industry. Making Stem Pedis the obvious choice for earth-conscious individuals.

*The water will cool down during the pedicure as opposed to the steam that stays warm.

*Cross-contamination is high within jet systems + bowls. With a Stem Pedi there is no jet system or bowl alleviating this worry for at-risk clients (or any client for that matter).
